Our 2019 share offer is now closed! Click here for further information
We are excited to announce that the share offer has been successful, raising £265,000. Together with other funding commitments, we are now able to invest £315,000 to build 8 new Solar PV Systems on roofs in and around Reading
Three installations are now complete with four more planned for May and one in June or July.
As well as the installations which are going ahead, we are also progressing discussions with a further 10 additional building owners and have pre-registered 8 of these systems for the Feed-in Tariff.
Once we have further clarity on which of these additional buildings it will be viable to install solar panels, we intend to undertake further fund-raising. We plan to develop each of the projects such that they contribute to the community fund and provide a return to members in line with the terms set-out in the current share offer.
WATCH THIS SPACE. WE WILL PROVIDE UPDATES AND FURTHER DETAILS AS THESE PROJECTS PROGRESS.
Our Solar PV Systems are owned by the local community for the benefit of the local community and we will prioritise membership for people in the local area (defined as having an RG postcode).
Visit our Gallery to see a collection of images of our existing installations, which include the Central Reading Library, Just Around the Corner charity headquarters, the Milestone Centre, Lifespring Church, Reading Community Church, St Birinus Church and Acre Road Business Park.
